The Gadget Show’s 3D Printing Trend

Of course it goes without saying that The Gadget Show, aired on Channel 5 currently, has taken a keen interest in 3D printing. But we don’t mean just as a topic of interest. The show has been using 3D printing as a process to help undertake other projects!

A month ago at their Gadget Show Live exhibition in London, the team looked into the concepts of 3D printing and tried and tested it, including using a model that costs only £300! Trials included making intricate figurines, using specialist equipment to scale the objects to be copied.

Since this, The Gadget Show has been in-the-know on the latest applications for 3D printing including making shoes, food and phone cases. Read the articles here

They have even been using 3D printing for their own applications and helping to create their own projects for the show, aired on Channel 5. We noticed that on last Friday’s episode, a pair of mechanical trousers were made using components made via 3D printing. This only goes to show how easily 3D printing can assist the everyday functions in a working environment and again is another step closer to 3D printing becoming the next essential in home and work lives everywhere!
