3D printing has arrived at Paralogic!

3D printing has arrived at Paralogic, in the form of a new Plastic Jet Printing technology 3D printer. One of the first tasks we have for this unit is a feasibility study. This includes looking into the possibility of reverse engineering of hard-to-find spare parts. This is so that we can better support our customers if they have a scanner or printer breakdown that requires parts on long lead times. It is our expectation that we will be able to manufacture temporary replacement parts as and when we require them. This way we can get customers up and running again until genuine replacement parts become available. Our initial tests have been encouraging, having so far created a number of working parts, including a cover latch assembly and a number of plastic gear wheels. Watch this space for further news!
