How can I create Scanner Art?
Firstly, find an item such as a photograph or a playing card. Secondly, lay the selected item flat on the scanner and scan it. Whilst the scanner head moves across, take the image and slowly drag it, spin it, wiggle it and so on to create unique and fun effects. A highly recognisable image works the best since it doesn’t matter that they are distorted. The possibilities of effects are endless and with the addition of computer software to further enhance these effects, you can create something truly unique at a very low cost and with minimal materials.
Top Tips:
– Tape a pen or pencil end to the item to help move the item quicker to create an edgier effect!
– Try scanning one image a number of different ways and then cut and paste the different effects together- makes great abstract art!
– Why not create pictures for your friends and family as presents? Scan their favourite image and print and frame your version of the image. They can display it in their homes for all to see and will appreciate the uniqueness of the gift!
